Iolite Vaporizer

Today I received a lovely iolite vaporizer , there is only a few niggles that i have with it which are the mouth piece can get quite warm after extended use and that it can be slightly noisy when you’re in a quite location. Apart from that I love it runs on lighter fuel and it fits comfortably in your hand.

If The Sender Doesn’t want the iolite vaporizer back then i think i’ll be sticking it up on eBay to make a few extra pounds

I’ve had 3 yellow tail damsels in the tank for a few months, but the biggest one seems to be picking on the smallest one which isn’t in the best of health and i have seen him chasing my lovely clown fish arghh. I’ve been to my local Fish Retailer today and they’ve said that they will take them off my hands. They are only cheapish fish at £3.99 each and the last thing i want killing is one of my paired clown fish.

When these three fish go from my aquarium I’ll only be left with three a Yellow Tang & a pair of Clown fish. Which is a bit strange when a few weeks ago I had, 3 yellow tail damsels, Bi Colour Blennie, 2 Clowns, Blue Cheek Gobi and a Bi Colour Angel, 3 of these have died.

I’m going to leave it a while before any restocking, and see how it goes with water quality and the lease of life.

This Week In Brief

Tonight i have pool again. We are playing at the same pub we played at last Thursday and won, but we are playing the team from that pub not a knock out cup team, Tonight’s team I below us but we tend to lose to the teams under us, I think we are hoping that if we play well then we know it’s our table that’s causing up problems and not our playing.
Tonight’s pub is good for smoking as you can stand outside and smoke and still watch the game that’s been played. I’ll get some rollies made up before going out, I’m well into my 1st box of rolling papers so I I’ll have to calm down, otherwise I run out quicker than expected

I’ve bought a Fish R Fun Internal 9W UV Sterilizer from eBay, in the hope that it might help the mystery of dyeing fish in my aquarium. I know it’s not the best UV Sterilizer out on the market but I just want to keep everything in the tank as I’m not ready for a sump yet as space is tight.
I’m hoping it will turn up tomorrow, as I have a water change due at the weekend and ideally would like it in place for then.

Racing and Fish

I’m trying to arrange a day out at the Cheltenham festival which is a massive horse racing event in the UK. The Gold Cup is the big race and probably the most well known after the Grand National. It takes place on the 19th of March.
The last few races have been between a few famous horses Kauto Star and Denman.

If I don’t manage to go, I’ll b having a bet online, in which case I’ll be looking for a new sign up on a betting site that will offer a nice free bet. On certain betting sites they recognise you from your card number so if you sign up make sure you’re using a different card so that you get your free bets.
Free bets are usually around the value of £20 so when you sign up make sure to find a gambling site that offers a sign up bonus / free bet.

I managed to lose another fish at the weekend, which was the bi colour angel which I had only recently bought. Local shop says that I could have a pathogen in the water and has advised me to get a UV steriliser. This should kill all infections in the water and help to keep it clear.

2010 Winter Olympic

New year new look, I decided today that I’d have a fresh look for my blog. I wanted to stay with the dark colours and the lines, and managed to sort this out.

I’ve been watching some of the Winter Olympics over in Vancouver, when I catch it I’ll watch it in depth. We won two medals back in 2002, one Gold for women’s curling and one Bronze for Alex Coomber for Skeleton. Right I didn’t know what this was but it uses the same track as the Luge, but you go down on a sledge facing forward on your stomach, the rider uses skis on their feet to steer and brake.

In honesty I don’t think we’ll be getting a high medal count this year either, we might get a curling and skeleton the same as 2010 but anything else would be a bonus and unexpected in my mind.

A work colleague has just come back from holiday and brought me back a nice box of rolling papers which was nice of them. It was a box of Rizla Blue’s so each packet has 100 papers in and the big box has 25 packets in so that’s 2500 rolling papers , hopefully that should see me through this year.

Time To Get My Old OCS Shirt Out !!

Its my birthday on the 21st of Feb and I’ve been and booked my self 2 tickets to go and see Ocean Colour Scene. They are playing at Bradford’s St Georges Hall on the 22nd of February.

I’ll have to dig out my old Knebworth T shirt that i got when Ocean Colour Scene supported Oasis back in 1996.
I thought a head though and bought a large t shirt so it should still fit and if the t shirt printing was upto standard then it should still look fresh.

Moseley Shoals was Ocean Colour Scene’s 2nd album and their biggest album featuring their 2 biggest songs “The Riverboat Song” and “The Day We Caught the Train”.

I bought a new fish at the weekend for myself a lovely Yellow Tang. i’ve just been and bought it some Green Sea Weed for its food.

This week

I managed to get a tobacco tin bought last week and its arrived this morning its great i went for one of those airtight ones as they where only around £3, I choose one with the St Georges flag on the front. I can fit quite a bit of tobacco in and still manage to get a lighter and filters in.

I’m rather looking forward to the weekend, I’m hopefully going to get a few new fish for my marine aquarium i have been to my local Fish shop at lunch today and they have a few Yellow Tangs in and a few other fish that took my eye.

Sunday will be much of the same lunch around 1-2 and then a quick afternoon nap till 4 and then a movie.

This week’s gone really quick, I had Tuesday off but ended up moving loads of furniture so it wasn’t really one of those relaxing days off that you get, i did manage to to sneak an hour or 2 of xbox.

I’ve currently been playing pure and i reckon i must be bout half way through completing the races, i’ve just bought Farcry as well which I rather like but it’s a bit strategy based for me.

2 Tank Bred Clown Fish

On Saturday I went and bought the first fish for my marine aquarium, I bought 2 tank bred clown fish. I bought 2 as there was an offer on 2 for £24 for a pair which I didn’t think was bad and the fact that I traipsed around 3 local marine shops to find 2 clowns that I liked. All but the last shop had pretty poor clowns in, the colour was poor the markings where just as bad and they were really small.

I think the next fish will be a Blennie, so that some of the algae will be eaten on the side of the glass. I tend to clean the front and both sides of the aquarium and leave the rear with algae on so that there is some natural food for him when I get him in a fortnight.

I’ve got a Power head on order from eBay, i currently have 2 both are located at the rear of the tank 1 on either side and both point towards the front middle of the tank. My new one will sit on the right hand side pointing towards the left but aiming downwards so that no debris gets left at the rear of the tank.

I’d ideally like a forth so that I can have one blowing over the Live Rock to try and keep them clean and help with filtration.
The reason I bought one from eBay is the fact it’s about £20 cheaper and slightly more powerful, but i can’t speak for the quality of it, so i thought it would be worth the risk even if it only lasts for a year.

Architects love natural travertine tiles

Architects have used natural products since time began; wood to build homes and ships, stone products and brick to construct buildings, so it is no surprise the travertine tiles have been a favourite with architects and builders over centuries. Many famous buildings use travertine tiles, the Getty Centre, the Willis Tower in Chicago, the medical centre at the University of California Los Angles, the Colesseum in Rome are just a few examples of where travertine tiles and stones have been used.

Over the years builders and specifiers have found that the best products used in building and finishing for homes and commercial premises, are natural products such as travertine, which when cut and dressed to form a classy tile to enhance any area into which it is fitted. The use of travertine tiles is endless and these can be found increasingly used for exterior cladding and patios and the travertine tile most commonly used is a natural chipped edge version, but honed and polished travertine tiles are best if used as a wall decorative cladding.

Internally, travertine tiles are ideal in many areas but it is essential that you pick the right type of tile for your need. Usually a honed travertine tile is best for use in high traffic areas and rooms exposed to moisture such as kitchens and bathrooms. The natural travertine tile is best suited for living rooms which is soft and delicate to look at and the classic aged look of Travertine tumbled stone will warm your home. The colour of travertine tiles does vary and this can be from pure white, but impurities can cause the colour of travertine to vary and to be yellow and brown.
