Iolite Vaporizer

Today I received a lovely iolite vaporizer , there is only a few niggles that i have with it which are the mouth piece can get quite warm after extended use and that it can be slightly noisy when you’re in a quite location. Apart from that I love it runs on lighter fuel and it fits comfortably in your hand.

If The Sender Doesn’t want the iolite vaporizer back then i think i’ll be sticking it up on eBay to make a few extra pounds

I’ve had 3 yellow tail damsels in the tank for a few months, but the biggest one seems to be picking on the smallest one which isn’t in the best of health and i have seen him chasing my lovely clown fish arghh. I’ve been to my local Fish Retailer today and they’ve said that they will take them off my hands. They are only cheapish fish at £3.99 each and the last thing i want killing is one of my paired clown fish.

When these three fish go from my aquarium I’ll only be left with three a Yellow Tang & a pair of Clown fish. Which is a bit strange when a few weeks ago I had, 3 yellow tail damsels, Bi Colour Blennie, 2 Clowns, Blue Cheek Gobi and a Bi Colour Angel, 3 of these have died.

I’m going to leave it a while before any restocking, and see how it goes with water quality and the lease of life.

Unseen dangers from not recycling that old ‘phone

There are over 4 billion mobile ‘phone users throughout the world today – that’s about 4 people out of every 6 living on this planet and owning a mobile ‘phone, subscribed to a mobile phone contract, or living with someone who owns a mobile phone, now that’s a lot of mobile ‘phones! What happens to all those ‘phones, we know that not all of them are in use as with many network providers, new ‘phones are sent out like Smarties and a children’s party! Like a lot of things in this life, they will probably be pushed into a drawer and eventually get thrown in the bin with other items in our consumerist society.

But there are good reasons why you should recycle your old ‘phone not least of which are the hidden dangers of not doing so. When you consider the sheer number of mobile ‘phones being dumped to our landfills every year,  mobile ‘phones contain antimony, arsenic, copper, cadmium, lead, and zinc which thinking about it is quite real and alarming. It is believed that around 105 of mobile ‘phone users simply throw them away when they are given an upgrade or they are just tired of it! If this is true than we have a situation where millions of mobile ‘phones could be rotting in landfill and potentially leaking dangerous chemicals into our water systems and millions more in drawers gathering dust waiting to be thrown away.

When you receive your upgrade, buy a new mobile or get tired of your old mobile, give it to a family member, friend or use a cash for mobile service. Don’t just discard it or worse throw it in the bin. Why not recycle your ‘phone if no one loves it and get cash for doing so, you will be a bit better off and you will be helping to save the planet from those nasty chemicals.

Lottery Winnings!

I won’t beat around the bush i won a nice amount on the lottery over the weekend not a large amount but enough to do the bathroom out.

I’m hoping to get the bath and over shower ripped out and get a nice fancy shower unit put in, with the possibility of a corner whirlpool bath. The shower I’ve been looking at is one of those steam showers with blue flashing lights; it looks the mutt’s nuts to me. That’s probably going to be just shy of £1000 and fancy corner bath say £500,I can’t see plumbing been much either.

What I really want is some underfloor heating to go under my new stone tiles I’ll be getting, as one thing that really grates me is the fact that a tiled bathroom floor is always cold, not anymore. I’m not sure how the under floor heating will work whether it will be water underfloor heating or electric. The problem i see is the nearest ring is for our night storage heaters which mean the flooring will only be getting heated during the hours of 12pm and 6am so come evening it will probably be cold. Anyway that’s not an issue for me that’s the sparkys job.

I’m hoping to get all my equipment sorted this week and get all the workmen in by the beginning of next week, i’ve been told it shouldn’t take more than 3 / 4 days to complete so i won’t have to wash in the sink for long.

Lips For Xbox 360

The other half went to a friends house a few nights back, and ended up playing on Sing-Star for the Wii.  She was delighted with her self when she came back, saying how she’d done really well on all the songs.

I thought to my self cant be that hard and thought nothing more of it.

On Sunday we went into town for a look around and i decided to go into Game, and have a browse for pre owned 360 games, anyway she magically finds Lips pre owned for £25, not bad i thought at least she won’t complain if i buy a game if i get her Lips. To cut a long story short it didn’t come with any mics so that would be at least £20 for 2 mics plus the game at £25, id probably be just as well buying it new. Anyway they didn’t have it stock so she lost out, but in turn so did i.

We went to asda on the hunt for a sledge, which appear to be like rocking horse sh!t at this time of year, with all the bad snow we are getting. We happened to go past the games section and they had Lips with 2 mics on sale for £35.

Xbox 360 Lips

Xbox 360 Lips

We raced home so that we could try it out, me thinking i was a dab hand at singing, since i do it in the van all the time. Turns out i’m not, most songs i can’t sing in tune or in note. The only one I’m remotely good at and can beat the other half at is Becks – Loser since its so low note wise. But i still only score around 1.2million, which isn’t that good since on 2 songs she can get over 2million.

I plugged my ipod in to the Xbox and tried Oasis – Songbird, which is exremely short but i managed to find my self scoring 400k. Its just a shame that lips doesnt give the lyrics but since i know them it wasnt a major issue, what i did find spooky was when you tap the mic in the oasis song you get a Tambourine, How Iconic.

Avatar 3D Reviewed

Last night i went to go and see avatar 3D at my local Odeon cinema. To be honest i like going to the cinema just because you get that big screen effect that you don’t get at home. Films like Gremlins and Ghost busters looked good on a huge screen.

Anyway. I’m sure i remember a few years ago cinema tickets been cheap i spent just under £40 for 2 people last night. Tickets where around £10 each, bag of butterkiss popcorn (toffee flavour) say £5, then a drink well that must of been around £5 to make my pick and mix £10.
The only thing that pleased me, was been able to sit in the premier seats which are more comfortable and have more leg room, oh and a holder in the arm rest for my drink which stops me craning down every 10 minutes to get it from the floor, in avatar that means I’d of been bending down to the floor around 24 times.

I knew pretty much nothing about the film apart from it appeared to have the blue man group in it.
As soon as i saw James Cameron’s name mentioned i knew it wouldn’t be a let down he’s pretty much on of my favourite directors only to be beaten by a certain Micheal Bay and just above Tim Burton. In honesty i think all 3 are great in there own scene. Burton does dark and creepy well, Bay does glamour and explosions. and Cameron does epic’s and CG.

Within the first few minutes you see Sigourney Weaver pop up not to be stereotypical of an alien movie. Also Michelle Rodriguez plays a big role in Avatar, more commonly known from Lost and the Fast and Furious franchise.

Its clear the majority of the $237 million went on CG as most of the film is CG, but its done so well and probably the best i’ve seen so far in reality terms.
Its rumoured that the true cost of the film was around $310 million and another $150 million for marketing, i will say though that its been well spent on the movie.

I think watching the film in 3D was definitely worth the premium i paid as it added an extra depth of field to the film which I’m sure it would of lacked normally.

At time of writing its total gross is around $1.3 billion, which is Just behind the first place slot which is Cameron’s Titanic which grossed $1.8 billion.

It did seem a little long and drawn out in places but i seriuosly think that had any parts been cut out, that the film would have lost its sense of direction.

Does recycling your mobile phone work?

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, illegal mining of coltan ore is used to fund rebel movements and to buy arms to fuel the continuing civil war in the region. These mines are mainly located in the areas inhabited by the endangered lowland gorilla and generally result in the destruction of their habitat. The United Nations also estimates that the conflict in the region is the deadliest since World War II, and has resulted in 5.4 million deaths.

Coltan is a source of tantalum that is used in the manufacture of high quality electronic components such as capacitors.  These are used in many consumer items, most especially mobile phones. While there are legal sources for coltan from North Western Australia, Brazil and Canada, the illegally sourced ore is often cheaper and generally cannot be traced back to its source.

One way to lessen the demand for coltan is to recycle or reuse your old mobile phones. This could be as simple as passing an old phone along to a friend or family member or using one of the recycling services that have appeared online. These services will recycle broken mobile phones free of charge and may even pay cash for mobile phones that can be reconditioned and reused. Not only does recycling your old mobile protect the environment at home by preventing the phone from ending up in a landfill site, it also helps protect the habitats of many endangered species such as the lowland gorilla.

New Years Resoultion

One of 2 posts today, my new year’s resolution is to try and stop playing fruit machines, i don’t go out often but when i do i like to put a few pounds in a fruity, Deal Or No Deal ones are my favourites and I love playing them.

Anyway i was out having a meal the other day, and i was on a £70 jackpot Deal Or No Deal. I managed to get on the feature board with some ease, and quickly got the option to play Deal Or No Deal “Deal Noel”, anyway i quickly bashed the relevant button, and was doing well after the first banker call i had all my reds left with a few blues gone, that’s kind of good as the reds where all above £20. Any way next deal came and a few reds had gone but the daddy £70 was still there. By the time the third deal came i could hardly control myself as there was £70, which was my only red box and a £4 blue box.

The wanky banker offered me £13. Here I’m torn in two i mean what’s the chances of £70 been in my box, jam it deal i’ll take £13. BOLLOCKS i had £70 box.

I didn’t stop moaning all the way home. Thinking about it now if i had £4 in my box the offer of £13 wasn’t that great so i should of just gone for it. Knowing that losing £56 profit on a no deal and going to the end would of seen me with £70.

So this brings me on to stopping playing fruitys for as long as i can with hold, so i have taken it upon myself to buy some blunts which are flavoured tobacco leafs for my smoking habit, these really do give a lovely flavour over juicy papers that you can buy.

I purchased the Blunt Wrap Triple pack which gives a good selection of flavours. I’ll see how these go down and will more than likely try another type before making my mind up on my preferred blunt

New Dawn Legal High

December the 23rd is rather an important date for me, not becasue its the day before christmas eve day, but because a certain chemical is been banned in the UK by law, which will stop me and thousands of other smokers enjoying ourselves.

Any way theres word on the street of a few new products that don’t have the banned chemicals in, they are branded Aromatherapy Incense and are to be used in a suitable incense burner Cough, Cough (Bong).

One of the new Herbal Highs / Aromatherapy Incense is called New Dawn, i’d like to think it will give a nice sweet tasting smoke as it has honey and vanilla  listed in the Ingrediants as well as Damiana, Leonotis, Erythrina, Clover (Not Butter), Verbascum Thapsus, Pukatee and Liverwort.

Its produced by a company called Summit Corp who are over in Panama City, hopefully they’ll have some more products in their line up.

Looking for Private Number Plates

So I was checking out the DVLA site today, as I was looking for a private number plate, unfortunately the one I was hoping for (h1 ppy) wasn’t available.

So I’m on the look out for a different number plate, I’m not sure what though – perhaps H1 55Y? Doesn’t really work I suppose…

I’ve noticed a few funny instances around, last month the DVLA withdrew a few personalised number plates because they were offensive to gay people (one said the deragatory term for lesbians and the other the derogatory term for a homosexual male – to be polite). That’s not as bad in the US though, they withdraw over 9000 plates that started with WTF, because in Internet lingo it stands for “What the F*ck” – how crazy is that!!!

Honeymoon Potential? – Oasis of the Seas

I’ve been considering where to go for my honeymoon after I get married later this year, one idea I was debating over was perhaps going on a cruise. I’ve always quite fancied a cruise, I’m not sure why, I think it is something to do with the calm and peacefulness of being in the middle of the ocean.
Anyways I’ve been doing some background reading, and my research has found that a brand spanking new boat is to be launched at the end of this month. Well I say boat, but really its a giant floating island called the Oasis of the Seas. Basically it is the biggest cruise ship ever designed.

Basically the whole thing sounds like Metro Centre on water – it apparently has different areas like “Central Park” which has a “lush tropical garden” – A GARDEN! Not just a garden, but a tropical one! On a boat! Mental.

Anyways, I can’t imagine what the cost will be, but I bet Virgin do some wicked cruise deals when it comes out, so I’m going to keep my eyes peeled!
