Weekend highlights

I watched the F1 at the weekend and the cars looked fabulous under the bright lights, I hear you say bright lights. Well that’s because the race is run during the night and the circuit is lit from overhead. It was a pretty interesting race, and I thought that Lewis did pretty well to get back to 4th or 5th or whatever place it was from 14th after his pit stop and drive through penalty.

An online company that should remain nameless have sent me some cannabis seeds, so I guess they must have seen me on my blog or some other means of been a regular customer, which is great really must keep it up lol.

Leeds united also seem to be doing slightly better although they still have the bad attitude to sitting back in the game when they get a few goals, and then low and behold the other team bang a few in and we a back to either been a goal down or level pegging. So times I do wonder how no one has bothered to point this out to them ha ha.

It’s soon going to be fireworks night which in honesty does my nut in; I normally go to a local high point and watch them over the county which is much more fun as you see about 10 if not more shows all at once. Also if I can get someone else to try up with me i can take some herbal and have a few tokes on my Roor pipes.

Why do the rich escape punishment

I always wanted to be super rich, mainly because when I break the law I would like the option to get away with it like the super-rich seem to do. Case in point; the Man City whiner who recently avoided a motoring offence, because according to his hot shot lawyer he can’t apparently read English – Carlos Tevez. Now to most people that would seem fair if you were on holiday in foreign country, many traffic cops would let you off with a warning because of the language barriers. However if you have been living in the UK as long as Tevez has you should be able to read English especially when it’s imperative to driving. If you can’t read English you shouldn’t be allowed to drive on UK roads, simples.

Now originally this came out because although he admitted speeding at 38mph in a 30mph zone in February he failed to reveal who was driving his £140,000 Bentley at the time because as his lawyer argued he could not have understood the summons so that case was dropped. This quote however did make me chuckle; lawyer Gwyn Lewis told magistrates in Oldham: “He does not deal with his own post.”

How amusing so he could not understand his summons however he doesn’t handle his post so what’s the excuse? Anyway the overpaid oaf was fined £60 and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and costs of £35 for speeding. To you and me that’s quite a lot of money to Tevez though no doubt that would be small change! It just goes to show that if you have the money you can get yourself out of anything, plus the most important thing if you have been living in a country for over five years why can’t you speak the native language? I personally feel that if you can’t learn English then you should be kicked out after a certain amount of time even if you’re a highly paid footballer!

New Gears of War 3 will see Xbox run gaming industry’s first live TV ads

I’m excited as it is for the new Gears of War 3 game; I haven’t bought any recently and fancy something newer to challenge me, so I was thrilled to see that Xbox will run real-time television ads for the game which will display the number of people playing the game online at the time of broadcast.

According to Xbox it will be the first time the gaming industry has featured live TV advertising, at the moment only gambling ads feature real time advertising with ‘in game’ betting from the likes of Paddy Power. So I think it will be fun to see it used for other things. The campaign will start on 23 September and will run in six instalments until 3 October; the live elements of the television campaign will feature on 30-second executions.

I am a bit behind as the game came out yesterday and I didn’t pre order it, however I was busy with other commitments so I am off shopping today to get hold of a copy, but don’t tell the missus as she thinks I am out working all day….ssh…..

Weekend entertainment

Well much to my surprise Leeds seemed to play pretty well at the weekend ok we lost a man so ended up playing with 10 men. But we managed to win the game and we were still playing well. Our newer players seemed to have good input to the game as well, lets now hope that we are going to get a few wins in the bag so we can get away from the foot of the table.

I got some cannabis seeds through eBay the other day, they were really cheap on there, I was quite surprised at how many seeds it got in the packet it was more than you’d get with say a packet that you ordered off the internet.

I might slowly be getting converted to watching X Factor as I think Kelly Rowland is pretty hot, I had been using my Iolite beforehand so I’ll have to wait until next Saturday to see if I’m still liking the whole X factor issue.

Sacrilege as two British pubs ‘close every day’

As an avid beer connoisseur I am shocked to see that two British pubs a day are closing according to a report this is because of a perfect storm” of tax increases, cheap supermarket promotions and lack of support for licensees. Although I understand that in this climate people who like to responsibly enjoy  a drink need to find the best possible deals which in many cases is from the supermarket(me included sometimes it’s just too expensive to go out).

Since the smoking ban came in the number of people visiting pubs has dropped, (shocker) although people who didn’t smoke did not necessarily like being surrounded by smoke they did enjoy the company most probably of their smoking friends. So when smokers stopped going out as much cause it’s annoying going outside to smoke many people who didn’t smoke also cut down.

Tax or ‘duty’ is another reason people stop going out, it caused it to be too expensive, every time they put up duty on alcohol it put people off going out because it was making it too expensive.

This is why pubs are closing plus greedy breweries!

Starting Out: Your Equipment

Making up your mind to start a T shirt printing business is one thing; working your way through all the possible options for processes and equipment is quite another, and more than a little intimidating to the novice printer.  An industry trade show is probably the best way to get up to speed on current technology and have your questions answered by industry experts.  You can also learn a lot from researching the various printing processes online, discovering what materials and equipment are required, and what results you can expect from each.

You can also purchase just about any component you might require from online suppliers such as Adlogo and access their tech support to help you decide.  Another alternative is to join a T-shirt forum and network with others working in the industry to get some unbiased user reviews.

That being said, you might consider buying a starter package to get the feel of the technology.  A little internet research reveals that a hobby kit containing a 9X12 platen heat press, design software, transfer paper and sample T-shirts, mouse pads and tote bags to print on will cost around £250.  A number of suppliers offer package deals with different components. For instance, a ‘pro kit’ might cost £2100 for a 13X19 printer, sublimation inks, bulk feeder hardware, 16X20 swing heat press, and a mug press to give you a sideline to the operation.  For those on shoestring budgets or feeling a bit tentative about starting out, there are deals available on good quality second hand equipment that will launch you into your new business.

Booking a holiday without spending a fortune

Well it looks like the Government don’t want us to leave the country seen as they are intent on putting charges and taxes up on air travel making it more and more expensive to go on holiday! Me and the missus are due a holiday and I have been looking to get some cheap tickets to go to South Africa as that is where my father is living plus the other half really, really wants to stay on a nature reserve. The problem is a safari holiday in its self is not cheap so adding airline tickets on top of that is proving to be quite costly.

I have found some good deals online for accommodation as long as she doesn’t mind sleeping in what could only be described as a wooden hut. From what research that I have done most accommodation is fairly basic because of where you are and if you wish to stay on a nature reserve its gets really basic. (I’m not sure if she can manage a week without hair straighteners). We will also be staying with my father for a few days at the beginning of the holiday and end so we can get to and from the airport easily plus save a bit of money on accommodation.

My last task is to organise to flights to South Africa hopefully they won’t break the bank too much as I think this holiday is going to end up costing me quite a bit when everything is taken onto account. However I am quite excited to go on safari and see animals I have only ever seen on TV or in a zoo in their natural habitat.

TV Times

I haven’t really been watching a lot of TV recently, well not what’s been on I have been watching my DVD box sets such as Family Guy, Dexter, Breaking Bad and the Inbetweeners because well there just really isn’t a lot on TV well not terrestrial TV anyway. Freeview isn’t too bad but most of the programmes on those channels are repeats anyway. Plus I don’t like Big Brother or the stupid Saturday night game shows hosted by Ant and Dec and I especially don’t like the X Factor!

This is the time of year I really don’t like for TV I know we will have X Factor running until Xmas and its only September now as will Dancing with the none ‘A’ List Stars. Hopefully the BBC will show a couple of documentaries although I have been enjoying watching The Killing on BBC but alas that will be coming to an end, but hopefully they can get a bit more gritty drama like that. I can probably order some more box sets but I really don’t get what I am paying a TV licence for anymore, especially if I get less F1 coverage next year!

Sport grumblings

Well it looks like Ken Bates has gone slightly mad by not buying any players for Leeds during the transfer window it is pretty wreck less to say the least since we let people go and we aren’t performing that well either. I’m pretty much decided that we could just be going down this season, and who’s going to take the blame poor Simon Grayson. But it does look like some of the fans are aware that Bates is going to be to blame.

F1 at Monza is going to be a good race as its one of the hardest races on engines due to thinner air and the time spent on full throttle. I’m kind of guessing that most people will be putting new or hardly used engines in so that they stand the best chance of completing the race you’d have to be smoking Roor Pipes continually to use an old engine.

I see that the BBC and Sky haven’t sorted themselves out yet with who’s going to be showing what for the 2012 season hopefully the BBC will show full re-runs, highlights would be ok but they always miss something, and honesty I’d like to watch the full race. I might start looking into streaming the F1.

Some bad news I dropped my newsiest digital scales into the kitchen sink and they now just fail to work, I’ve tried drying them out on a radiator but nothing so I now need to fork out for a new set or a couple so I have a spare just in case I do something silly again which is likely!

Football transfers

The Premier League is where it is at for exciting last day transfers, since the end of the season clubs have had 92 day to secure new players and let go one which are surplus to requirement, which is why it always amazes me that some clubs leave it till the eleventh hour to sign someone new.

There have been so many rumours this season it’s hard to keep up, some clubs such as Man City went for some big and expensive names; Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri and Stefan Savic plus a couple more. Quite a lot thought they would spend big and they have however they have also cleaned out a lot of ‘dead wood’ too from the team such as Shaun-Wright-Phillips and Craig Bellamy.

Arsenal seems to leave it right up until the last minute which considering their thrashing from Man (ure) probably wasn’t the best idea. Most of the summer talk of exodus of Nasri and Fabregas was all over the papers and it seemed like Arsenal weren’t doing much about it other than adding a couple of new players however they went for it on the final night bringing in Arteta, Mertesacker and Santos plus a couple more.

Unfortunately the Championship aint as exciting and especially not for a Leeds fan like me, we had nine players out of the team most on free transfers or just released and only five in which isn’t that good considering our squad wasn’t really strong before, and certainly not strong enough for the Premier League.  Fans have been calling for Bates to go as he hasn’t really helped this team and well too many long term Leeds fans they see that all he has really done is destroy it. Next time I go for a match I think I will join in with the protests and hope that one day he listens to the fans
