New Xbox rumours

I get a little bit excited when I come across new Xbox rumours, although I know they may not be true, it’s still fun to check them out. According to online gossip the new console will be called Xbox 720, although I think that’s what online geeks may have nicknamed it.

So far I have heard that it’s going to get bumped up with more power, although this is pretty obvious and it could include a Blu-ray player, not sure on that one though. Better processors too are speculated with a possible AMD Fusion Chip.

According to AMD, its set to be a ‘beast’ of a machine which will produce Avatar style graphics, plus AMD’s director of ISV relationships states it will also feature improved artificial intelligence and physics capabilities. Which sounds really exciting?

Controller wise I think motion sense is here to stay, whether you love it/hate it, its popularity cannot be denied, so maybe Microsoft are working on making it even better. Obviously the game pad will be here to stay, so as not to upset hard-core gamers, which is understandable.

Release date wise, well rumours range from 2012-2015, however Microsoft have said that the Xbox 360 will have a ten year life span like Sony PlayStation, so that puts us near 2015. That gives us four years of hyped speculation, but also four years of technology that will be finally tuned such as glasses-less 3D and super high definition, plus four years to save up the money to buy the new console, 3D TV and whatever else we may need!

Weekend fun

Well this weekend there was no GP which was pretty strange but we are over at Germany next week at the Nurburgring which is normally a pretty interesting race.  There’s a rumour around that they are testing covers to go over the cockpit area to protect the drivers. But doesn’t this remove one of F1’s unique elements; why not cover the wheels top. Also how often do we see items hitting drivers in the head?

I’ve done some Xbox time but in honesty I couldn’t really get back into the F1 game. I’m still with team Lotus as I cocked up the first years re accepting the contract then again when I decided to restart it all I went to Virgin racing what a tool, it could be to do with me been more interested in using my iolite at the time but hey ho. Hopefully I’ll get the new F1 game which will also have KERS and DRS on which should make the game slightly more interesting. I’ve got bit of an issue with my volcano vape at the moment, it’s a common issue and there is a video on YouTube showing how to fix it. I’ve currently been using my newish Roor Pipe which only cost me £15 delivered which I didn’t think was bad at all. It looks really neat and small yet it feels really strong which is good as it does look fragile.

New video games

I had a bit of spare time on Sunday after the F1 and before Top Gear, so I decided to have a few games on my Xbox, unfortunately I wasn’t feeling very inspired with the games I had, couldn’t be bothered to get into a game of CoD or Fifa, so flicked on my F1 game as I was in a car mood.

So I have decided to see what other games are out at the moment, I haven’t bought anything for a while, and games for the Kinect don’t count because they are really for the other half. Flicking through Amazon I have quite a lot of the favourites, such as Red Dead Redemption and LA Noir as well as Modern warfare games which still stick around the top ten. What did catch my eye was Duke Nukem Forever. This game brings me back to my childhood, well teens, sat with my eyes glued to my PC. (My parents were too poor for a games console as well) Unfortunately there are quite a few bad reviews for this game; the bad outweigh the good, which is making me hesitant because it’s still around £30.

There isn’t much else I fancy; however I have pre-ordered Fifa 12, F1 2011, Gears of War 3, Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3!!! So in the Autumn I should have plenty of games to play!!

Sporting weekend

Well Ken Bates Has said that he’s not letting any more big names go from Elland Road and on first sight it seems like we’ve let loads of big names go but we still have Gradel, Sam, Somma and Becchio currently but other than that we look a tad week in other areas i.e. defence this is really where we need to strengthen, I was really surprised that we let Schmeichel go as he was a true asset to Leeds but I think bates sore the £1m price tag and his eyes lit up. But time will tell, next season, not sure we have what it takes to make it back up to the premier league I think we need just a couple of star players to do that.

I tried some Herbal Blends about a fortnight ago and in honesty they were pretty nice, there has been an aroma of quietness on the blend side of things and we haven’t had many good ones out. Ok we’ve had some like smoke 2 joosey which where old ones with the good stuff removed but they didn’t seem right. I tried some of the blends in my iolite as I couldn’t get my Volcano Vape fired up I think it just needs a good clean in honesty but I don’t really have time this week.

I was slightly let down by the British GP. There was more action than we had in Valencia but that’s only because buttons wheel had a slight wobble. I think that it is pretty clear cut this season and predictable apart from the odd fluctuation i.e. this weekend on who will win plus it all seems a little too safe for my liking, I like a bit of danger…….

Football transfer news that really gets my goat!

I like this time of year for football, with the anticipation of the next season building and all the transfer news circulating in the press, today however I read a news story regarding Man City player and Neanderthal look-alike Carlos Tevez. Apparently he said in an interview in his home country that he hated Manchester and couldn’t wait to leave, never to return again.

Now the official line in the press is: “It is with great regret that I have to inform Manchester City of my wish to leave the club. I would like to state that I have great respect for the club, its supporters and the owner, Sheik Mansoor, who has been nothing other than respectful to me. I hope that the people understand the difficult circumstances I have been living under the past 12 months, in regards to my family. Living without my children in Manchester has been incredibly challenging for me. Everything I do, I do for my daughters, Katie and Florencia. I need to be closer to them and to spend more time with them. I need them to be happy because my life is about them now. I need to be in a place where they can adapt. Being captain of Manchester City, qualifying for the Champions League, winning the FA Cup and finishing as top-scorer last season has made me very proud. I hope that most of the City fans will understand that I have given them my all on the pitch and that my dedication to the City cause has been 100 per cent on the pitch. I hope I have done my bit to help City continue their progress towards their ambition to be champions of England and to advance in the Champions League. I have no doubt that the players and management of City will achieve great success in the future.”

However I think this statement above is just Tevez acting nice, as its widely known how much he wants to leave and spends every opportunity slagging off the club and this country.Unfortunately for Tevez City won’t let him go for any old fee so it looks like he may be there longer than he likes! I for one would be happy to see the back of his ugly mug, however as a Leeds fan I don’t really worry myself with the premiership, well not at the moment!

New tour t-shirts

One of the bands from round here, who I do like to follow are heading out on their summer tour, which include many of the smaller local festivals, which for me as a fan is great as I don’t have to travel too far to follow them. I have followed them since school really and seen a few members come and go however the founding member and lead singer whom went to the same school as me is still there and we are great friends which means I get first call on many tickets.

I also get asked to help them out occasionally sort of as an unofficial roadie which is really fun for me, for their summer tour I am helping out at the local stops and one of my jobs has been to sort out new band t-shirts for the tour, including new album pictures and tour list of each place they are playing. It’s not the easiest t shirt printing order I have done before, in fact it’s a lot bigger than the ones I organised for my pool team however I do like a challenge.

As per usual I am calling on the services of Adlogo as I know they have good quality t-shirts and their printing methods produce really good work that lasts also they do really good rates for bulk orders which is great because I need hundreds of t-shirts in all different sizes for men and women. It’s not going to be easy as I only have a couple of weeks to do it because the band were waiting for confirmation from a couple of places that they were actually on the line up so hopefully they should come in soon!

Wimbledon

I started watching Andy Murray v Rafael Nadal yesterday with maybe a slight hope that the Scot could pull through for GB and secure a win at Wimbledon, however unfortunately (again) it wasn’t to be.  Murray started off strong (maybe a little too strong) and was doing well which if I am honest is what gave me hope, but I should know better as he just couldn’t keep up at that pace and although Nadal started of slowly looking like he may struggle he soon got good pace and well thrashed poor old Andy.

Speaking after his defeat Andy said to reporters that he had a “good tournament” but conceded he needed to be “more professional”. Well that all well and good, but he knew what he was competing in, as this isn’t his first time and should be more professional. He also said that he needed to work “two to three per cent harder” but denied crying after appearing on the verge of tears on court just moments after his loss. Personally I would cry if I was him, knowing that I could have done better but didn’t, hopefully he will remember this and next year go the extra mile to win!

Racing times

Well its one of my favourite F1 races on Sunday the European GP in Valencia.  It’s kind of a street circuit like Monaco but quite wide and pretty modern. I really hoping to get a nice sit down and watch the entire thing. I rather enjoyed the last race even though it was red flagged for ages.

People whinge about well its only rain but would you rather have a full GP when it’s a tad drier or have the entire cars slide off lol. I’m rooting for Jenson to get another win here so that he can haul in points on Vettel, fingers crossed for Webber to see sky again and there’s good money on Hamilton seeing a nonexistent gap but still going for it.

A couple of mates have kindly given me 3 different herbal blends to try out which should be interesting as i haven’t had a good smoke for a while, but i suppose that means I’m going to be giving them a fair chance. I’m going to vape some in my volcano vape and then try to smoke the others in a more traditional style using a Rizla rolling machine.

Team GB football team for the Olympics

For London 2010 will have a team GB, which means English, Scottish, Welsh and NI football players will be all playing together as one team. It has been described as a historic agreement, which many people are happy about, well with the exception of the Scottish, Welsh and NI FA’s.

Their reason for not backing team GB is not that they don’t want to for the Olympics they are all worried that FIFA, (who are a law unto themselves) may make us play as team GB for all other football events, i.e. World Cups and Euro Cups. Plus it means that there will no longer be four votes coming from our fair islands, instead we would only get 1. Not only that they weren’t really involved in the whole decision making process.

I think it will probably be great to see the best footballers from around GB however I would only want to see it for the Olympics, after all it’s the only time we come together as a country. The rest of the time it’s great to have banter with our neighbours, even though the Scottish can be quite rude to us English football fans, I can’t see them getting on too well have to join forces with us. It may be a good arena for younger players to gain experience as well, seen as I think there is an age cut off, although I am not sure on that.

New season ahead

Well at the end of the season one thing was pretty clear cut that Kasper Schmeichel would stay at Elland road due to his outstanding performance during the season, I’m mean after all the effort he put in why would you let him go? Plus Shane Higgs contract was not going to be renewed so he is departing Leeds this summer leaving only one 1st team keeper.

Kasper Schmeichel has been one of Elland Roads best keepers since Nigel Martyn. In my eyes and whoever has decided that letting him go is a good idea are completely and utterly mistaken. Kasper Schmeichel is an up and coming keeper and he’s performed with outstanding results last season. He also controls the team like I’ve seen no one else do since his dad Peter.

Which makes me think has Ken Bates just seen a healthy return for Kasper Schmeichel? I mean why else would you let him go to Leicester City when he didn’t even want to leave the club? This very well could be the downfall for Leeds in the forthcoming season, as we now have no first team keeper or anyone who has any experience playing with the rest of the other players.

Whilst on a rant roll, if we hadn’t cancelled Beckfords contract before the 2010 season we could easily have been promoted this season. So I expect, (hope) Grayson will be sacked in time for Christmas as we will more than likely be propping up the foot of the table.

I really can’t believe that this is happening, we were doing so well I’m not sure what chairman, manager and staff are smoking but it must make you crazy like Greengo, to make decisions the club has been making recently!

Football aside, I’m really looking forward to the next F1 race in Valencia at the weekend, I’ve got a few herbal blends to try out during the race, which friends have given me to try out, which should be fun and if they are any good I will no doubt need some when the footy season starts again!
