Week of Football

On Wednesday we had a game against Blackpool, which was a good result gained as we beat them 2-0 at home. Norris and Morrison scored after half time; the beginning of the match wasn’t anything to write home about however things changed pace in the second half. It was the first win in four league games for us and we move closer to the playoff zone. If only we had one on Saturday.

We were left to a goalless draw at Ewood Park, Blackburn just a point behind as we fight for the playoff zone (six points to go). We still have a lot of work to do and a lot of strength to build in the team. As of yet we still don’t have an out and out striker since Becchio left. Diouf and McCormack are strong contenders but neither has the goal scoring record Becchio did. On Saturday we face Milwall at Elland Road, Milwall are currently a couple of points below us and we really can’t afford to drop any points or let in anymore goals.

On the plus side Bradford were well and truly thrashed by Swansea in the Capital One Cup. I know Bradford is a Yorkshire team, but as a Leeds Fan I couldn’t support them, they only time I would is if they were playing Manure. I never thought they had a chance to be fair though, they had been very lucky but as Swansea had the power of Michu, I knew there would be goals flying. Although a double came from Dyer and a Penalty from De Guzman as well as a goal in the 90th minute, Michu only managed one goal, but that was all that was really needed.
